  Wonderful breakfast dining experience. Our waitress, Emma, was very helpful, polite and a real pleasure to start our morning off. We will definitely be back.

  Weird it was when we sat, we were told we could not be bringing a bottle of SmartWater into the restaurant. We were further told that this was a Connecticut Department of Health regulation, but I could not locate any such regulation online. I was careful to inquire as to whether this was a department of Connecticut regulation, or was this simply a policy for the restaurant, and it was confirmed that this was a health code violation. In addition we were unable to order a hamburger from the lunch menu at 10:30 in the morning. We never actually ate at the Mystic Diner, but because of the incredible feeling of not feeling welcome we departed.
  
  We drove to another diner a short distance away and the restaurant told us that it was not a problem to have a bottle of SmartWater in the restaurant, and further that he was unaware of any Department of Health regulation in the state of Connecticut barring outside bottles of spring water.
  
  I can't explain the behavior of the waitress at the Mystic Diner, nor can I explain her contention that we were not allowed to have a bottle of spring water with us. I can not however recommend a restaurant that doesn't go out of its way to make its customers feel welcome.
