  Red 36 is my favorite restaurant in Mystic. Sure, it’s a little pricier than some of the other options, but the food is just so good and the ambiance is spectacular. The whole place sits out on the water and the view is amazing. On nice days the salt air really adds to the experience. The food is delicious, from the amazingly fresh seafood to the elevated pub fare. The Thai Wings were perfectly crispy with a nice hint of spice to get things started. The calamari were exquisite, especially with the sauce. The seafood paella risotto is a great way to get a wide variety of excellent seafood, of all of which is delicious. The only downside was service which was largely good, but cast a certain disparaging attitude because we came with children. Nothing was overt but there was a certain atmosphere throughout the meal. Still, with the atmosphere, excellent beer list, and fantastic food, it’s the place to go in Mystic.

  I was SO happy with Red 36. We had Apple Cider Sangria (seasonal), Cauliflower Fritters (amazing), and I had a delicious salad with arugula, prosciutto and burrata. I did not think that it was overpriced at all, especially for waterfront dining. There were little canisters of oyster crackers on the table which was a nice touch. The ambiance was really lovely, it seemed there was some outdoor heating as well. If I return to Mystic, I would definitely return here

  You have to go through the boatyard to get to it, but once you get there you've got a beautiful view, nice atmosphere, attentive staff, prompt service, and fabulous food. Quickly becoming a favorite.

  We needed a place to eat for lunch after Mystic Seaport and settled on Red 36. Food was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was great. I didn't like all the types of oysters, YMMV. If I remember I liked the ones right from Mystic the best. Great view of the harbor. Cheers.
